Medhurst is looking for enthusiastic and ambitious IT Apprentices to join our Managed Services Team. These full-time positions will be term time at a customer site (Hounsdown School in Totton), and outside of term time based at our Head Office in Segensworth East, Fareham, PO15 5TX, or potentially joining project teams across the country.

Duties will include:

You will be required to provide 1st line support on both hardware and software covering desktop PCs, mobile devices, audio visual and networking equipment along with identifying and assisting to resolve technical problems. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn and experience all aspects of delivering IT support, ranging from the end user devices to servers and the networking infrastructure. With the growth in the deployment of Cloud Solutions, you will also be learning about those, and supporting their deployment in schools.

  • Responding to issues reported
  • Providing first-line support on client devices
  • Checking that equipment is ready for use, and fully updated
  • Recording all activity on our helpdesk system
  • Ensuring the customer is kept informed of actions taken
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional relationship with the customer
  • To work according to direction from other Medhurst staff members

Other information:

  • A DBS will be required upon starting

Skills required:

  • Pays attention to detail
  • Keen interest and knowledge of computer technologies
  • Inquisitive approach to troubleshooting
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and Safeguarding
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Basic understanding of Networking Concepts

Personal qualities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Ability to work under guidance but also alone
  • Desire to learn and progress
  • A full driving license is required

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A*-C / 9-4 including English and Maths

Future Prospects:
