A unique opportunity to join a very successful business undertaking technical setup of card bureau work including proofing, data preparation, machinery setup and reporting, in-house pre-press studio service and providing IT support to card bureau operation.

Duties will include:

Studio Artworks and Proofs:

  • Supply press ready artwork from client files where required. Produce proofs for card production / personalisation. Amend client artwork, where possible, for corrections / amendments. Check client artworks for press suitability when required. Help & advice may need to be given to Sales & Marketing Teams to assist with securing further orders.

Card Bureau Job Data Setup:

  • Generate job data using templated scripts. Generate new scripts for job data setup. Produce labelling & printed proofs to enable card bureau staff to run the jobs. Setup machinery where required including printers, hot foiling, milling & embedding.

Manage Localised IT:

  • Produce log files for orders (where required). Ensure company FTP service is available to clients when required, including additional login/password generation. Maintain bureau computer systems for admin & production (including databases, network & servers).

Housekeeping:

  • Keep office & personal work areas clean & tidy. Keep refuse bins emptied. Test fire alarm weekly and record in log.

Other information:

During the first 15 months you will complete:

  • IT Application Specialist Apprenticeship Framework Level 3

Skills required:

  • Computer Literate
  • Knowledge of operating systems
  • Microsoft Office proficient (extra training in Excel may be offered)
  • How to use emails
  • How to use Skype
  • Telephone confidence

Personal qualities:

  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to follow patterns
  • Ability to see differences in data
  • Thorough and meticulous in your work style

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English grade C(4) and above is preferred
  • An IT based qualification is desirable, for example an A level in Computing or a BTEC in IT
