The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations state that organisations must seek advice on health and safety from a competent person to ensure that they are compliant with health and safety legislation.

As a starting point, we are offering the opportunity of a Health Check of your business safety awareness and needs.
The Health Check is conducted over a half day during which we can review two of the options below in a little more depth. This will result in a short report detailing where improvements are required.

Health and Safety Management
As a legislative requirement, health and safety must be managed within organisations. To do this, we can assist with a desk top review of your health and safety policy to assess if it clearly provides direction and where changes are required, to ensure this policy provides the basis for good health and safety management.
We can provide an update on current legislation directives and advise of any forthcoming changes to legal practices to support compliance and enforcement by HSE within your business.
Every business, no matter how small, is required to conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessment to identify hazards or risks in the workplace and implement control measures to minimise those risks. A review of your risk assessments will highlight gaps in awareness and we can give guidance as to any additional bespoke training you may need to develop procedures and documentation to support risk assessment analysis.
The law requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health to prevent or reduce workers exposure to any substances requiring control measures to reduce risk as far as reasonably practicable. To assist with COSHH compliance we can provide a review of your risk assessments and control of work processes
Display Screen Equipment
There are specific legislative requirements for the use of display screen equipment such as computers and their configuration and use. We can assist your business to comply with these requirements and thereby protect staff from adverse health effects. During the Health Check we can assess computer workstations and assist with development of suitable policies and procedures
Manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work and causes over a third of all workplace injuries. It is therefore important to manage these risks within your business. Your current procedural arrangements for manual handling can be reviewed and we can take a look at existing risk assessments.
