An apprenticeship is a great way to start your career!
What led you to work at PETA?
I attended St Vincent College where I studied A Level Performing Arts, Dance, Media and Photography. I really enjoyed these subjects but was very unsure if I did want to attend University. I started at PETA 2 weeks after finishing College. I started off completing a Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeship and then moved on to complete a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?
I am an Administrator for the Apprenticeship Recruitment Team. My main role is:
- Dealing with all the new applications for the apprenticeship vacancies we are advertising
- Booking in applicants for a pre-eligibility check interview with our Engagement Officer
- Advertising new vacancies
- Paperwork for when we fill a vacancy
What knowledge or experience do you draw upon for your role?
- How Government funding works
- Requirements for Business and IT apprenticeships
- Processes for tasks
- Customer Services skills
How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?
I tend to keep a to-do list (usually the same tasks everyday) as I like to be very organised and know exactly what I need to be doing. I like to stick with time keeping so I don’t spend too much time on one task. Multitasking, in case someone will need you to do something for them while you are doing something else.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I really enjoy spending time with friends and travelling.
What are your personal values, and what is important to you?
Enjoying life to the fullest! You never know what is round the corner.
