"PETA offers award-winning training to both the corporate sector and apprentices, and my role is just a small part of what it takes to ensure the smooth and successful running of PETA as a whole."
What led you to work for PETA?
I am a fully trained legal secretary and a lifelong administrator having worked in various roles and sectors over the years, however I am always looking for ways to increase my knowledge and education, and as such have taken it upon myself in recent years to also train as a beauty therapist, and to gain qualifications as a yoga, breathwork and meditation instructor. Working for PETA appealed to me because of their focus on education, both starting out and continuing, not just for apprentices and delegates but also their own staff – allowing all the opportunity to accept training to assist in the job but also in life as a whole.
What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?
I am a Conference Centre Co-ordinator at PETA on a job share basis. What drives me is being part of a well-established team and ensuring that I do my best to maintain the level of professionalism and excellent customer experience that PETA offer. PETA offers award winning training to both the corporate sector and apprentices, and my role is just a small part of what it takes to ensure the smooth and successful running of PETA as a whole.
What knowledge and experience do you draw upon for your role?
Having spent my career within predominantly administration-based roles in different sectors of expertise, the experience that I bring to the role is the ability to adapt to the differing styles and requirements of the business.
How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?
I approach my role each day with an open mind and a smile. Each day within the centre is different, and it’s always important to be flexible, easily adaptable and resilient to ensure that you can cope with any eventuality. Each visitor to the centre, whether they are a corporate client, an apprentice, or simply hiring the venue for their own purposes, receive the same warm welcome, assistance and customer experience to ensure that PETA remain the go-to training facility for the south coast.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I am passionate about health, fitness, holistics and education. I strongly believe that all of these things work together to create an overall happier and more rounded person, with the ability to progress, enhance and achieve all that they require for a life they can be contented with. I am also a mama to three wonderful (not so small) children which is something I am immensely passionate about, being a mum has been my most challenging, and wonderfully rewarding, achievement to date.
What are your personal values, and what is important to you?
My personal values all revolve around a similar theme of truth, integrity, and communication. Truth and integrity are at the core of every healthy relationship, whether it be personal or professional. They are assisted by communication, talking about issues, listening to others and having open and frank discussions about the best way to proceed in any decision whilst taking all factors and differing opinions into account.
