"What drives me is the opportunity to make a real impact—helping businesses grow through meaningful training and development"
What led you to work for PETA?
While I have some experience in sales, B2B sales is a new and exciting area for me. My background is rooted in management and operations within the retail and leisure industries, where I developed strong leadership and customer-focused skills.
I joined PETA to step outside my comfort zone, take on new challenges, and further develop both personally and professionally in a dynamic and supportive environment.
What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?
As a Business Development Manager at PETA, my role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with partners, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting apprenticeship and training solutions that support workforce development.
What drives me is the opportunity to make a real impact—helping businesses grow through meaningful training and development, while also supporting individuals in gaining valuable skills and career opportunities. I'm motivated by the chance to connect people with pathways that lead to long-term success, both for themselves and their organisations.
What knowledge and experience do you draw upon for your role?
In my role, I draw on my strong background in management and operations. This experience has equipped me with a solid understanding of business needs, team leadership, and customer engagement—skills that are directly transferrable to business development.
I also bring experience in sales, which helps me communicate effectively, build relationships, and understand client needs. While B2B sales is a new area for me, I leverage my adaptability, problem-solving mindset, and drive to learn quickly in order to contribute meaningfully and deliver results.
How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?
I approach my role with a structured and strategic mindset. Planning for me is key—both in managing daily tasks and in working towards my broader business development goals. I make sure to prioritise outreach activities, follow-ups, and relationship-building.
This role requires strong communication skills, resilience, and a realistic attitude—especially when it comes to outreach. Rejection is part of the process, so having a thick skin and the ability to persevere is essential. Organisation, adaptability, and the ability to stay motivated are also crucial to staying on track and delivering results consistently
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, family time keeps me busy and on my toes. We love spending time outdoors and exploring new places together. One of our favourite spots is the Hundred Acre Wood, where my son can run freely and enjoy being surrounded by nature. It’s a great way for us to unwind, stay active, and make lasting memories as a family.
What are your personal values, and what is important to you?
My personal values are centred around integrity, growth, and connection. I believe in being honest and transparent in all my interactions, whether at work or in my personal life. Growth is important to me, both professionally and personally—I’m always striving to learn, improve, and push myself to reach new heights. Lastly, I deeply value meaningful connections with others. Building strong relationships, whether with family, friends, or colleagues, is essential to my sense of fulfilment.
