"I like finding practical solutions and helping others see the story behind the numbers."
What led you to work at PETA?
I’ve worked in finance for over 15 years, mainly across accountancy and payroll, and during that time I discovered how much I enjoy helping others understand and grow in these areas. That interest led me into teaching and training, where I’ve been able to share my experience while watching people develop their skills and confidence.
Working in the training industry has honestly felt like a privilege, seeing learners progress and knowing you’ve had a small part in their journey is incredibly rewarding. Joining PETA felt like the right next step for me, as PETA really value the people who make up the company.
What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?
Having come from both a finance and training background, I take pride in being part of an organisation that makes such a positive impact through education and development. My role is a Finance Business Partner. I work in the finance and compliance team
What knowledge and experience do you draw upon for your role?
I draw on over 15 years of experience in finance, having worked in a variety of roles across accountancy, payroll, and financial management. Over that time, I’ve developed a strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, and compliance, along with a real appreciation for the importance of accuracy and transparency in my work.
How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?
I rely a lot on my attention to detail and problem-solving skills, but also on being able to explain financial information in a way that actually makes sense to people. I like finding practical solutions and helping others see the story behind the numbers. Staying organised and adaptable is also important to me — no two days are ever quite the same, so being able to adjust and keep things moving is a big part of how I work.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about spending time with my family and friends — they’re a big part of what keeps me grounded. I also love travelling and experiencing different cultures
What are your personal values, and what is important to you?
My personal values centre around honesty, respect, and reliability. It’s important to me to be someone others can trust and depend on.
