Pamela Davies

Head of Operations

"To be back at PETA, bringing that knowledge home and using it to support, develop, and inspire our teams, is a genuine honour. "

What led you to work at PETA?

My first experience with government funding began here at PETA, where I joined as Contracts Manager in 2007. It’s an absolute pleasure to return 15 years later, after an interim leader in Further Education. I’m delighted to bring back the knowledge and skills I’ve gained and to lead the team as Head of Operations.

What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?

As Head of Operations, I’m motivated by the opportunity to shape experiences that introduce learners to the start of their career, as part of a team that can transform people’s career paths and in turn a positive impact on their lives. Helping learners gain skills, confidence, and qualifications, and knowing that strong operations make this possible, gives real purpose to my work.

I’m also driven by the challenge of bringing structure, clarity, and high standards to a complex environment.

What knowledge or experience do you draw upon for your role?

After working as an interim leader across Further Education—gaining new perspectives, overcoming challenges, and growing both personally and professionally.

To be back at PETA, bringing that knowledge home and using it to support, develop, and inspire our teams, is a genuine honour. I am proud to lead as Head of Operations, and I’m excited for what we can achieve together.

How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?

As the Operations Manager, I am responsible for ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient delivery of apprenticeship and commercial programmes across the organisation. My role spans leadership, quality performance oversight, drive and lead on compliance and operational strategy.

  • Strong people management, coaching, and performance-monitoring capability, quality and compliance.
  • Ability to lead delivery and administration teams (dept managers and curriculum leads).
  • Skilled at resource planning, timetabling, and workload management.
What are you passionate about outside of work?

I went to Art School and after many years of neglecting my painting and love for clay modelling, I am now back at an evening art class which has rekindled my creativeness.

The Arts, I’m a regular theatre goer, particularly west end plays; it’s such a privilege to experience actor’s such as Jodie Comer and Sarah Snook in their extraordinary one woman plays. Such a talent to not just remember all the dialogue but to make it believable is really quite something!

I’m also a regular Parkrunner, having now completed over 260 runs, most recently we attended the German Unity Day in Berlin and the home of Parkrun, Bushy Park.

What are your personal values, and what is important to you?

My Family loved ones and friends. I really value integrity and doing what’s right – it’s probably why I love compliance so much!
