What is your role at PETA and what drives you to what you do?
I am the Quality Lead (Engineering), I have always been interested in the quality aspect of apprenticeships and education, and the drive to help others understand and achieve the best results. Within this role I also have the opportunity to help develop and advise existing assessor and new assessors to deliver the best results through rigorous QA.
What knowledge and experience do you draw upon for your role?
I have been in the industry for over 16 years, working as tutor, assessor and Internal quality assurer (IQA), I have had the opportunity to be a lead IQA engineering, and I have a varied and wider engineering knowledge along with other sectors, such as Rail & Business Admin which all have different approaches to QA.
How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?
My approach is looking at priority completion of learners; as planning is a big part of what I do daily.
To do this role, good communication, planning and writing skills are required along with the various experience from being an assessor and IQA. As this allows me to have insight into challenges that the assessors will face on a day to day basis.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy various activities, walking my two dogs, Luna and Burno and spending some time with my family, I also enjoy CrossFit, and gaming both digitally and tabletop with friends.
