Article summary: National Apprenticeship Week 2021 will take place from 8 - 14 February and will focus on how apprenticeships enable employers to train, retain and achieve.
The event will offer clear insights to apprenticeships for employers and potential participants alike, highlighting how they can have a positive impact on both businesses and individuals.
This year will mark the 14th annual, week-long event and the theme, ‘Build the Future’, encourages people to consider how apprenticeships can provide the ideal route for those looking to build the skills and knowledge needed for a rewarding career. The theme is also in keeping with the events of 2020, which has seen many businesses suffering from the effects of the pandemic. Employers who are now taking stock of their future business needs should consider apprenticeships as a way to aid recovery and build the skill needed for the future.
The pandemic will have a direct impact on this year’s National Apprenticeship Week; with many businesses operating virtually and staff working from home, the events will be delivered online to ensure access to great information and advice, providing opportunities to hear how powerful apprenticeships can be for the economy and business.
PETA is heavily invested in apprenticeship training, with their roots firmly embedded from over 50 years in business; PETA was established in 1970, a time when the traditional indentured apprenticeship was thriving. Levy's were in place then and they have come full circle and are back, providing employers with a cost-effective way of training new staff and upskilling existing employees.
Over 450 apprentices learn with PETA every year, in the Engineering, IT, Business and Management sectors. PETA has developed strong partnerships with many local employers, successfully pairing them with the right apprentices for the roles required. Our recruitment service is key to helping employers find the perfect candidate for their roles and essential in guiding potential apprentices to what is available to them. We welcome both young people new to the world of work, as well as more experienced employees looking to gain new skills and a qualification.
We also offer a fully managed apprenticeship service which provides comprehensive support in helping employers to understand, navigate and maximise their levy entitlement and utilise it for building skills within their business.
