NEBOSH wins Awarding Organisation of the Year 2021

Article summary: NEBOSH has won the Awarding Organisation of the Year at the 2021 Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Awards. PETA holds Learning Partner Gold Status for NEBOSH delivery and as such a close partner, we’re thrilled that this impressive accolade has been awarded.

NEBOSH relies on their global network of Learning Partners to deliver their courses to an exceptional standard, providing excellent training and support, and help in preparing them for assessment. NEBOSH endeavours to ensure that each and every learning experience enables their learners to gain new skills and fulfil their career aspirations.

The Learning Partner Programme is a quality assurance programme that aims to recognise those Learning Partners who can prove that they meet the principles that represent global best practice in the provision of course tuition and support. NEBOSH encourages and supports their partners to commit to continuous improvement and to be able to demonstrate their high levels of performance against six learning excellence principles.

These six principles cover: learner understanding, creating an ideal learning environment, providing accurate course materials, ensuring tutors are qualified and competent, providing appropriate learner feedback and support, and reviewing course and learner feedback and actioning as necessary.

The Programme awards Silver Learning Partner status to those partners who exceed the learning excellence

Principles and Gold to those who greatly exceed them.

The awards, which took place on 11 November at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester, recognises the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.

NEBOSH’s nomination outlined the exceptional work that was done to quickly adapt and modernise their approach amidst the pandemic. It also highlighted the positive impact its activities have on the health and safety community, which is invaluable.

NEBOSH Chief Executive Dr Chris Payne said:

“Not only this, but NEBOSH’s entry highlighted all of our other achievements from the year; reduced environmental impact, creating new assessments, training our Examiners on the new approach, developing additional educational opportunities and resources for our learners, supporting our Learning Partners to name just a few. This award is a testament to Team NEBOSH and all of our supportive stakeholders. Together we are helping to make the world a healthier and safer place through quality learning.”

PETA has been running NEBOSH programmes for many years and was awarded Learning Partner Gold Status in 2019. We currently offer three NEBOSH programmes; the National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, the Certificate in Environmental Management and the Certificate in Fire Safety, with course starts available in January, February and March 2022.
