We are delighted to share the success of our recent Macmillan Coffee Morning which took place yesterday, held to support Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible work they do in helping people living with cancer.
The event featured a wide selection of homemade bakes, which were judged blindly by Nick Kalfas and Steve Dawe without knowing who had baked what - making the competition all the more exciting! Our team pulled out all the stops, with creations such as:
- The Autumn Hug Cake - Apple crumble cake with custard, buttercream and toffee drizzle
- Biscoff Millionaire Shortbread
- Carrot Cake
- Chocolate Sponge Cake with Cream
- Fresh Cream Fruit Sponge with Raspberry Jam
- Strawberry Dream Cupcakes
- Lemon Drizzle Cake
- Spiral Cake
The winning bake came from Abi Dalton, our new Business Development Manager with an outstanding Salted Caramel Chocolate Ganache Tart topped with honeycomb - a true showstopper!
As well as the baking competition, the morning included fun activities such as sweet bags and a ‘guess the biscuits in the jar’ challenge, bringing plenty of smiles to the team. It was a great way to come together, enjoy delicious treats, and support such an important charity. Well done to Sue Harrison for guessing the correct number of biscuits!
So far, we have raised £223 for Macmillan Cancer Support, and donations are still coming in. Every pound raised helps Macmillan provide vital support and care to people who need it most.
A huge thank you goes to Sharon Jenkins for organising the event. From managing the bake entries and activities to setting up the space and encouraging everyone to get involved, she put in a huge amount of effort to make the morning such a success. Thanks to those who baked, bought and supported!
