An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the PETA team as an IT Apprenticeship Recruiter, at our training and conference centre in Portsmouth. This role offers hybrid working and the successful candidate will have the option to be office based two days per week and home based three days per week.

Our Recruitment Team

Our team are focused on providing a first-class advice and guidance to apprenticeship job seekers, supporting them every step of the way throughout their application journey.  Our Recruitment Team is made up of four recruiters that specialise in each of our apprenticeship areas. The team is supported by two dedicated resourcers and overseen by our Recruitment Manager.

Your New Role

Joining the Apprenticeship Recruitment team, the successful Recruiter will be responsible for the engagement of employers and the recruitment of potential apprentices to attain and fill a range of apprenticeship vacancies. In your new role, you will:

  • Engage with current clients to introduce additional company services whilst working to placement targets
  • Provide an excellent standard of service to employers as the main contact point throughout the recruitment process
  • Manage 20 / 30 vacancies per month
  • Source enough volumes of quality applicants to ensure successful filling of vacancies to meet placement KPIs
  • Match suitable candidates to vacancies, working with both employer and employee and guiding them through the recruitment process.
  • Support with career fairs and school events (sometimes outside of standard working hours)

To be considered for the role of Apprenticeship Recruiter, you will need to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing and overseeing recruitment campaigns.  You will need to be highly organised, proactive and can work on your own initiative.  You will also need to display the following qualities:

  • Recruitment experience gained either in an agency or internal recruiter role
  • Experience or knowledge of the IT industry would be beneficial
  • Able to meet KPIs in a fast-paced work environment
  • Friendly and Personable
  • IT Literate with knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Good standard of written English
  • Efficient and Proactive

The job holder is responsible for the engagement of employers and the recruitment of learners to attain and fill Apprenticeship vacancies.  The engagement of employers and recruitment of new learners must, as a minimum, be in keeping with both budget and contracted learner profiles.


Essential requirements for this role:

  • GCSE Maths and English – Grade C or above                   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Customer Service Level 2/3
  • Recruitment experience gained either in an agency or internal recruiter role


Car Parking - 

Free on-site car parking.

 Annual Leave -

The company leave year commences 1st January and your leave entitlement is 34 days which includes 8 public holidays (Pro rata for part time working).  Annual leave will increase dependent on length of service rising to 38 days including 8 bank holidays.

Sickness Absence -

The company operates a discretionary non-contractual Occupational Sick pay Scheme and subject to your length of service.

Life Insurance -

Non-contributory Death in Service life assurance – up to four times annual salary payable

Scottish Widows Pension -

The company operates a pension auto enrolment scheme through Scottish Widows.  This is a pension salary sacrifice scheme whereby employees are automatically enrolled after the first three months of their employment.  Currently contributions are 4% from the employee and 4% from the employer.  The National Insurance saving on salary sacrifice that the company would normally benefit from is also paid into the employee’s pension.  This is currently 13% calculated on the salary sacrifice. 

Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme -

This is a 24/7 confidential helpline from Health Assured to support employees through any of life’s issues or problems.  It provides confidential support and can be used for a whole range of issues such as stress and anxiety, mental health, bereavement, family and financial matters. 

Perkbox -

Perkbox is an employee discount scheme available to all employees from the first day of their employment.  Discounts such as cinema tickets, insurance vouchers for high street shopping, coffee bars and restaurants are available for employees to make use of.  Perkbox is a taxable benefit so employees are encouraged to make full use of the scheme.

Currently, there are salary sacrifice schemes in place for the purchase/sale of Annual Leave subject to qualifying criteria.
