Luke has completed both his Level 2 and Level 3 ICT Technician apprenticeships with PETA and is currently responsible for customer service and IT support provision for over 50+ sites across the country at Carerra UK. He works with a team of five professionals covering PC/Server support, Security, Networking, Web Design and more.

We caught up with Luke to ask him some questions about his Apprenticeship journey and his hopes for the future.

Question icon Hi Luke, What made you choose an apprenticeship?

Answer I really liked the idea of earning money whilst I was learning

Question icon Would you recommend apprenticeships and if so why?

AnswerAbsolutely. Because personally, I think gaining the on-site experience as early as possible is more valuable than going to University and learning the theory without gaining any on-site experience.

Question icon What did you buy with your first pay-cheque?

AnswerI bought a new TV and an Xbox One games console.

Question iconWhat’s the best bit of the job/ what do you feel proud of and why?

AnswerCreating fully functioning websites for people because it feels like I have been a part of getting their business up and running.

Question icon What is your greatest achievement?

AnswerCompleting my apprenticeship to the equivalent of 3 ½ diplomas as I completed so many modules and getting nominated for apprentice of the year. Also, learning how to build e-commerce websites with no training whatsoever.

Question icon Where would you like to go next in your career?

AnswerI would like to have my own business at some point in the future.
