Sam Redmond

Strategic Account Manager

"It's a privilege working in a team that’s so passionate about what they deliver. I am proud to play my part in delivering PETA’s mission."

What led you to work for PETA?

I’ve worked in customer-facing roles for over 15 years, both face-to-face and over the phone. I’m a people person and I’m driven by ensuring my clients receive consistent high levels of service and delivering on my promises.

It was this passion that inspired me to work in sales and I started my career with a fine food and grocery distributor, working with independent retailers. I moved on from products to consultative services when I joined a well-established marketing agency. This involved working with senior decision makers to refine their target audience for sales and marketing campaigns.

After three years I was ready to make my next move and I was contacted about a role with PETA. Their mission and vision struck a chord with me and the role matched well with my skillset. It's a privilege working in a team that’s so passionate about what they deliver. I am proud to play my part in delivering PETA’s mission.

What is your role at PETA and what drives you to do what you do?

I am a Strategic Account Manager, looking after half of our key accounts. Many have been PETA members for decades, so my priority is to ensure they continue to get the most from their membership. I work collaboratively with my clients on their business needs, identifying opportunities to develop their people and to help their business thrive. Knowing that everything we do has such a positive impact on companies and individuals really drives me to deliver my best.

What knowledge and experience do you draw upon for your role?

Discipline and effective organisational skills are critical to ensure results, but it’s also vital to have strong people skills.

How do you approach your role on a day-to-day basis? What skills are required?

I start my day by setting 3-4 objectives to keep me focused, but the ability to remain agile and responsive to clients’ needs is equally as important.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I’m passionate about music and film and I’ve been an active Picturehouse cinemas member for over a decade. I regularly go to gigs and volunteer for both Independent Venue Week and a local grassroots music venue, covering the box office, operations and supporting the crew and touring artist.

Aside from this I enjoy getting out to see friends and family as much as possible, as well as walks with my wife and miniature dachshund, Bertie. We love travelling and aim to visit a new country every year.

What are your personal values, and what is important to you?

Honesty and integrity are critical to me, and these are important in building credibility and trust with my clients.

It’s also essential to have patience and understanding, a little kindness can go a long way and help build rewarding long-term business relationships.
